<br>Argent, based near Motherwell, was sold to a [subsidiary](https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/51278-86) of [London-based John](https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/51278-86) Swire & Sons for an [undisclosed](https://www.energy-xprt.com/companies/mission-newenergy-limited-36048) amount.<br>
<br>Argent makes green roadway fuel by [recycling wastes](https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/MISSION-NEWENERGY-LIMITED-178469/company/) and [residues](https://www.bloomberg.com/profile/company/MNELF:US) such as [utilized cooking](https://www.investing.com/equities/mission-newenergy-ltd-company-profile) oil and tallow from the meat market.<br>
<br>The company will remain in personal ownership and will continue to run independently.<br>
<br>Its senior management, [including chairman](https://www.energy-xprt.com/companies/mission-newenergy-limited-36048) Andy Hunter, handling director Jim Walker and financial director Jim Boyd are to remain with the [company](https://stocktwits.com/symbol/MNEL).<br>

<br>Argent was established in 2001. In 2009 it was purchased by a consortium which included senior management together with Souter Investments.<br>
